The first stage is to remove as much build evidence from the
SLA as possible, without taking away details. At this
stage, dimensions are checked and allowance is made for paint
build up.

Then, the first covering of paint is applied. This
makes it far easier to see the form of the model and shows areas
that require rebuilding. Once the form is right, the base
colour can be applied. In this example of the calliper it
was to be a metal casting.

Matching the finish of an AP Racing Calliper called for some
special effects. Some features like bolts and bleed
nipples were replaced with manufactured parts for added realism.
